The Round Rock Public Library is such an amazing resource for us!  Each week, free events are hosted that reach almost every age group in our community.  Unless there is a holiday or a change in the schedule, these are the weekly FREE events happening at the Round Rock Public Library:

MONDAY

ESL Conversation Class9:00 – 10:30 am
The Literacy Council of Williamson County is offering FREE English as a Second Language Conversation Classes from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Mondays, at the Round Rock Public Library. No registration is required. The Literacy Council also offers ESL and GED information on a walk-in basis, Mondays through Saturdays, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Microsoft Basics1:00 – 3:00 pm
The Round Rock Public Library presents a free computer class for learning the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel 2012. No registration is required. The class meets weekly in the first floor computer lab.

Rockin’ Kids Club – 4:30 – 5:15 pm
On Monday afternoons the Library offers a rotating set of activities.
1st Monday: Lego Free-Build
2nd Monday: Art Club
3rd Monday: Science Club
4th Monday: Game On!
5th Monday: Book & Craft

Preschool Evening Story Time – 6:30 – 7:00 pm
PJ Friendly Event is held each Monday evening in Classroom A for ages 3-6 years. 

Friends of the Round Rock Public Library Meeting7:00 – 8:00 pm
The group meets on the second Monday of every month in the Library’s Administration Office Conference Room. All who are interested in joining the group are invited. The Friends group provides funding and manpower to enhance Round Rock Public Library services to library users. We build library support among community members through events such as the Summer Reading Program, a monthly November membership program, and the Mystery Night community fundraiser held in the Spring. We also raise funds through an ongoing used book sale.

Bilingual Story Time  – 10:30 – 11:00 am
Every Tuesday morning, the Library features a bilingual story time with songs and finger puppets in Classroom B for ages 3-6 years.
1st Tuesday: Chinese (ages 3-6)
2nd Tuesday: Spanish (ages 3-6)
3rd Tuesday: American Sign Language (ages 1-6)
4th Tuesday: Spanish (ages 3-6)
5th Tuesday: Spanish (ages 3-6)

Hooked on Knitting & Crocheting – 6:30 – 8:00 pm
The Round Rock Public Library’s Hooked on Knitting and Crocheting group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in the Library gallery. The group offers a chance for those who share a passion for knitting and crocheting to get together and swap tips and techniques as well as work on projects. Bring your own supplies. All skill levels are welcome!

Teen Book Club6:30 – 7:30 pm
The Round Rock Public Library Teen Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month in the Teen Room.

Toddlertime Story Time 9:30 – 10:00 am 
The Round Rock Public Library presents Toddlertime, a storytime for toddlers ages 18 months – 3 years, along with their caregivers.

Babytime Story Time – 9:30 – 10:00 am
The Round Rock Public Library presents Babytime, a storytime program for babies (ages 12-18 months) and their caregivers that encourages language development and learning. Explore a different theme each week through stories, songs, and finger plays. After the brief story session, babies and their caregivers will have social time with toys, bubbles, and even parachute play.

Toddlertime Story Time 10:30 – 11:00 am
The Round Rock Public Library presents Toddlertime, a storytime for toddlers ages 18 months – 3 years, along with their caregivers.

Preschool Story Time 10:30 – 11:00 am
This reading activity is a fun combination of books, fingerplays, songs, and a short film or app for preschool children ages 3 to 6 in  Classroom A each Wednesday.

The Round Rock Public Library Tween Book Club meets the second Thursday of every month in the Teen Room.

Tween Gaming 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Tweens (age 8-12) are invited to have fun with video and board games at Round Rock Public Library on the third Thursday of the month. Join us after-school in Meeting Room B for video games, board games, and fun!

SATURDAY

Round Rock Area Pokemon Club9:00 – 11:00 am
Pokemon players, make new friends and share your love of Pokemon Saturday mornings at the Round Rock Public Library. The Round Rock Area Pokemon Club welcomes kids to drop by for free, casual play in the Library’s Gallery Area, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Fans can play, trade, battle on their Nintento DS devices, or just talk Pokemon. Parents are welcome to relax and chat in the Gallery while their kids are engaged.

BowWow Story Time  – 10:30 – 11:30 am
Bow Wow, a program that allows new readers to practice their skills with a therapy dog and its trainer. Through our partnership with the Austin Dog Alliance, we offer Bow Wow on the first and third Saturdays of most months.

Family Story Time – 11:00 – 11:30 am
Family Story time welcomes families with children of all ages, although it is best enjoyed by ages 3 – 8. This interactive program includes a variety of activities such as books, fingerplays, music, movies, and puppets.

SUNDAY

Sensory Story Time – 3:00 – 3:30 pm
Sensory Story time is held on the last Sunday of each month in Meeting Room B. This program is ideal for children with sensory integration challenges, difficulty sitting still, difficulty in large groups, or children who have autism spectrum disorders. Sensory Storytime is open to all children ages 7 and under with an accompanying parent/guardian. Attendance is limited to 12 families and pre-registration is required.
