School of Rock Opens Newest Location in Round Rock | May 19, 2018

School of Rock announces the grand opening event of its latest school in the Austin-area,
located at 4500 East Palm Valley Road, Ste 136, Round Rock, Texas, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on May 19, 2018.

Along with the celebratory guitar smashing at 1:30 pm (School of Rock’s version of ribbon-cutting) with the mayor of Round Rock, guests will enjoy live performances by School of Rock musicians and special guests such as Austin-based band, Vallejo and Round Rock’s own Crashing Cali. Attendees will also enjoy guitar giveaways, trial lessons, bounce houses, light refreshments and even a special appearance by the Round Rock Police Department.

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging learning environment to
develop skills on guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, and vocals. Drawing from all styles of rock and
roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such
as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Frank Zappa. Thanks to the school’s performance-based
approach, students around the world have gained superior instrumental skills and confidence on
the big stage, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol,
The Voice and Broadway.

“Round Rock is the latest of many new franchise locations opening in 2018,” says Rob Price,
CEO of School of Rock. “We’re excited to partner with these dedicated franchisees, whose
dedication to music will open the doors for new students to learn, create and perform in a
community where music and performance is a time-honored tradition.”
School of Rock Round Rock is the first franchise location for owners, Kimberly and Bob
Durham. The Durham’s have a wealth of School of Rock experience between them. They’ve
gone from parents of School of Rock children, to students of the adult program, and now owners
of the latest franchise for the Austin-area community. A true School of Rock family, they know
just how important these programs are for people of all ages as they develop their journeys as
musicians.

“We’re excited to plug in and turn up the volume for students in the Round Rock area,” says
owner Kimberly Durham. “We’re looking forward to both kids and parents making lifelong
connections with other musicians, while rocking out to the classic music they’ve both grown up
listening.”
