Thankful to Live in Round Rock ~ Day 5: Round Rock Donuts

We are so very blessed to live in such a great city – Round Rock is unique in that it’s big enough to have everything that we need, but still has that small town feel.  Many of you know, I started Round the Rock because I wanted everyone to know and take advantage of all the fun things there are to do here in the Rock.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought it would be fun to reflect on 30 things that make me Thankful to live in Round Rock.

30 Reasons why I’m Thankful to live in Round Rock
Day #5: Round Rock Donuts

A list about Round Rock would not be complete without a mention of Round Rock Donuts! Who would have thought that a little orange-glazed piece of dough would be so famous?  People come from all over and make special trips just to have some “world-famous” Round Rock Donuts.

I’ll admit it though, when I first moved here, I refused to wait in a line of 10 cars just to get a box of donuts – that is crazy!  Until I actually has one of these delectable orange donuts hot off the line that is.  It most certainly IS worth the wait.  Now you just go prepared – bring a book or a friend to talk to.  Actually, since Lone Star Bakery did their remodel, the drive thru line is very efficient and doesn’t take long to get your donuts.

These donuts are so good, it took me a long time to try anything else on their menu, but they make amazing kolaches and their cakes are fantastic.  And in case you don’t think the regular donuts are sweet enough, they make a chocolate version.  But the ultimate menu item?

The Texas Sized Donut:

Yes – big as your head and tasty as can be, our family loves to get a Texas Sized Donut to celebrate birthdays with!  Where else but our town can you get a donut this big??
I love a hometown business – love to support a local product – especially one that is as good as this one!  And that is why I am thankful for Round Rock Donuts!
Just a small disclosure here – I am not receiving any financial compensation to tell you what I am thankful for in Round Rock. I am simply telling you about places, objects, & opportunities that have blessed me & my family.
