SUMMARY:The Verdant Web Art Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an art exhibit that transports the viewer into nature with Samantha Melvin’s “The Verdant Web\,” a solo art exhibit on view through January 5\, 2025. Before or after you take in the art inside of the Round Rock City Council Chambers Gallery\, proceed outside into Prete Plaza\, where Samantha Melvin’s seven-panel\, site-specific mural can be enjoyed. More info can be found on our Public Art Murals page. \nWishing to buy art? Artwork from the Round Rock City Council Chamber Gallery exhibit can be purchased by connecting directly with the artist. \nArtist Statement: Samantha Melvin \nThe Verdant Web investigates the interrelationship of humans and nature. Through the eloquent languages of painting and printmaking\, the works speak visually about the biophilic environments where built structures merge with the organic geographies of nature. Botanical shapes reference varieties of native species from Texas and from travels as a celebration of place\, while layered abstractions and patterns dance with one another\, forming varied outcomes of light and color\, reflecting nature’s ongoing\, and ever-adapting resilience. The interactions map the relationship between order and chaos in the complex system in which we live. \nConnect with the artist/make a purchase: \nWebsite: http://www.samanthamelvin.com \nIG: @samanthamelvinart \nsamanthamelvin@gmail.com \nInquiries about specific work are welcomed via email directly to the artist.
