The Seed Savers meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. and the 4th Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m.\, Meeting Rooms\, First Floor. We welcome volunteers of all ages. Families are encouraged to work together to help support this service. \nThe Seed Library is located on the 1st floor of the Round Rock Public Library – in the Business Center (behind the Circulation Desk). The Seed Library is a unique collection of open-pollinated and heirloom seeds. Any Round Rock citizen can borrow and donate seeds! But they’re a vital part of our natural world\, and we’d notice if they disappeared. Join Christie Gardner to learn all about bats\, and especially why we can’t live without them. \nAbout the presenter \nChristie Gardner is a retired elementary school teacher with a passion for bats and bluebirds. She has been a Master Naturalist in the Good Water Chapter in Williamson County for over 10 years. She has been a member of Bat Conservation International for over 30 years. She was trained by BCI as a bat interpreter and talked to crowds at Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin and at McNeil Bridge in Round Rock for many years. She once turned her 3rd grade classroom into a bat cave!

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, Oct. 25\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, the Round Rock Police Department\, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)\, will host a Prescription Drug Take-Back event to help the community safely dispose of expired\, unused\, and unwanted prescription medications. The event will be held in the parking lot of the Round Rock Police Department\, where residents can drop off their medications. \nAccepted Items: \n\nPrescription medications\nOver-the-counter drugs\nDiabetic test strips\nPet medications\n\nNot Accepted: \n\nNeedles or syringes\nThermometers\nIV bags\nMedical devices\nPersonal care products\n\nThis take-back program is monitored by local\, state\, and federal agencies to ensure safe and legal disposal in compliance with federal law. SUMMARY:National Prescription Drug Take Back Day by St. David’s HealthCare & Leander PD
DESCRIPTION:St. David’s HealthCare\, which provides care to more Central Texans than any other healthcare system\, is partnering with the Leander Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to provide a medication disposal site on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. \n\n\n\nParticipants can safely dispose of controlled and uncontrolled substances\, over-the-counter medications\, ointments\, patches\, creams\, non-aerosol sprays\, vials\, and pet medications. Used needles and other sharps will not be accepted.
