Bring a yoga mat and/or a large towel or two\, plus some water in case you get thirsty. \nWe specialize in teaching yoga that is accessible\, comfortable\, and beneficial for people with all kinds of bodies. Chairs are available at the Plaza and can be used during the yoga practice for sitting on or for holding onto for better balance. \nRegular yoga practice can help you improve your strength and flexibility\, and reduce your aches and pains. DESCRIPTION:The Round Rock Veterans’ Coalition and City of Round Rock invite the entire community to honor and remember those who sacrificed all for our country at a Memorial Day Ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony\, please join us for light refreshments. \nGuest Speaker: Major General Michael “Mac” McCurry \n\n\nMaj. Gen. Michael “Mac” McCurry is responsible for ensuring the Army Futures Command operates effectively by facilitating prompt and informed decision-making\, resolving complex problems\, integrating critical information\, and maintaining clear communication across all levels. His role is pivotal in streamlining processes and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve the Command’s objectives. \nMcCurry is a native of Meridian\, Idaho and commissioned as a second lieutenant of Infantry in 1988. Following graduation\, he became an Army aviation officer and a Scout helicopter pilot. He has served in command and leadership positions in Iraq\, Kuwait\, Turkey\, Germany\, South Korea and the United States\, most recently serving as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence\, Fort Novosel\, Ala.\nMaj. Gen. McCurry holds advanced degrees in National Strategic Policy from the U.S. Naval War College\, and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is also a graduate of the National Security Policy Program and the Naval Operational Planner’s Course and is a certified Joint and Maritime Operational Planner.

In this 90-minute workshop at the Round Rock Public Library\, Meeting Room A&B\, First Floor\, Silver Safe and Secure will explain how seniors can recognize\, avoid\, and report virtual scams. Topics covered include: \n•    How scammers target older adults (common scams: phishing\, tech support\, romance\, IRS scams\, etc.)\n•    Red flags to spot scams in emails\, phone calls\, and texts\n•    How to verify if something is legitimate\n•    Safe browsing habits and recognizing fake websites\n•    Where and how to report scams \nPlease click here to register. Registration is requested\, but not required. Registering will help us provide the right number of workbooks. \nAbout the presenter \nSilver Safe and Secure\, a Round Rock-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to teaching the elderly about digital literacy and how to avoid online scams\, was founded in 2023 by Ryosuke and Grace Mineta\, who have a combined 20+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
