DESCRIPTION:Round Rock Preservation and the City of Round Rock Historic Preservation Office present a Discovering Round Rock History Series talk with guest speaker Bob O’Dell\, writer/producer of the upcoming documentary “Tonkawa: They All Stay Together.” The Tonkawa are the only federally recognized Indigenous tribe that traces its origins to Central Texas. O’Dell — a high-tech entrepreneur turned writer and filmmaker who specializes in “bridge-building” stories connecting diverse communities and overlooked histories — has researched the tribe’s Texas history since 2020 and assembled one of the largest private collections of historical sources on the Tonkawa. The talk covers how the Tonkawa first “saw” this land and its earliest founders\, and how the tribe sees Round Rock today. Bring your lunch; water and cookies provided.
