Flix Brewhouse Raising Funds for Disaster Relief Benefitting The American Red Cross
The cinema brewery will donate a portion of every ticket sold at all ten locations during Twisters opening weekend in July
During Twisters opening weekend this week (7/18-7/23), Flix Brewhouse is raising funds for disaster relief efforts by donating a portion of every ticket sold and proceeds from a special Storm Chaser Burger to The American Red Cross. The nationwide fundraising effort (at all 10 Flix locations, including Round Rock) comes at a time when Red Cross incident response has nearly doubled; in 2023, the U.S. experienced an all-time high of 28 billion-dollar-plus disasters.

July 15, 2024 – To support vital disaster relief efforts, Flix Brewhouse is raising funds for the American Red Cross by donating a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold to Twisters during the film’s opening weekend. At each of their ten locations from July 18 to July 23, Flix will be donating a portion of ticket sales for the film – which takes place in Oklahoma – as well as proceeds from the Storm Chaser Burger Special (all-natural beef, Havarti cheese, bacon jam, sundried tomatoes, baby arugula, and served with seasoned tater twisters; $16.95) to the organization.
This nationwide fundraising effort supports those affected by natural disasters as The American Red Cross is responding to nearly twice as many incidents as it did a decade ago. In 2023, the U.S. experienced an all-time high of 28 billion-dollar plus disasters.
“Additional disaster responders, expanded recovery support and stronger networks of community partners are needed to help people affected by more frequent, large climate disasters,” said Matt Trotter, Regional Communications Director for American Red Cross serving Kansas and Oklahoma. “Over the next several years, the Red Cross needs to spend at least $1 billion so our disaster response and recovery services meet these changing needs. The generosity of donors is vital in these efforts, and we thank Flix Brewhouse for their support of disaster relief.”
Donations will help support the Red Cross’ relief services, including:
- Shelter for displaced residents
- Provision of hot meals, snacks, and water
- Distribute clean-up supplies
- Conduct damage assessments of homes impacted by storms
- Provide mental health support and counseling
“As we were gearing up for the wild ride that is Twisters, we were mindful of the fact that many of the communities we serve have been affected by a natural disaster this summer, including Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, and most recently in Indiana and Wisconsin,” said Summer Hasan, Flix Brewhouse Director of Marketing & Brand. “With that in mind, it was important for us to find avenues to help those affected by formidable weather events now and what’s to come.
