Meet Cal Otero
Tell us about your family.
My wife, Ashley, has been with me for 18 amazing years. She is the Director of Finance and Business Development at our architecture firm, MOD: Architecture. She is an incredible mother and wife and an invaluable part of our unstoppable team at work and home. We have been blessed with two wonderful children: a sweet and energetic 2-year-old son named Walker and a bright and creative 8-year-old daughter named Maebel. We also have a hilarious French Bulldog named Gus, who completes our family.
What would be your ideal way to spend Father’s Day?
Spending every moment with my children in our swimming pool, laughing, watching movies, eating, and cherishing the time together.
Tell us about your business
At MOD Architecture, our aim is to design, create, and inspire through architecture and interior design across various sectors in Central Texas. Our team has over 70 years of combined experience in the industry and has been operating in Round Rock for over 20 years. MOD Architecture recently underwent a complete rebrand and firm restructure, and we look forward to continuing to build upon our foundation of success.
What’s your favorite part about your business?
Our incredibly talented and professional team shares a passion for architecture. They inspire me every day with the effort they put into our projects. I also enjoy being part of the thriving business community in Round Rock. Building relationships has also been an experience that I cherish and will continue to cherish in the long term.
What is one challenge with your business?
Brand awareness: Although our firm has technically been around for over 20 years, the rebrand is a necessary step forward for us to progress. It feels like we have started from scratch, and brand awareness has been a top priority because we do not think the public is aware of our experience in Round Rock nor our pride in living and working here.
How does your business give back to the community?
MOD Architecture makes an effort to participate in charitable events to support the community. Recently, we volunteered at the Round Rock Serving Center and plan to continue volunteering in the future.
How can Round Rock (and the surrounding areas) support your business?
We are proud to be a local architecture firm and believe we have the talent to compete with or even surpass big city firms. We have been actively involved in our community, but we are looking for ways to increase our visibility to facilitate our firm’s growth.
