This small neighborhood park is located on Chisholm Trail, just north of FM 620 and very close to the famous round rock.   Built in 2003, this park is packed with history.  I have driven by this park a gazillion times but never stopped to read the plaques – they are fascinating.

The Chisholm Trail Crossing Park shows us a simulated scene of Round Rock’s historical role in the Chisholm Cattle Drive. Commemorative plaques in the park tell of the history of Round Rock. The sculptures and plaques were commissioned by the City through generous donations from Round Rock residents. I really encourage you to grab a snack or drink and spend some time in this park reading the plaques.

This park is often used for photographs as the bronze sculptures make for great backdrops.  My children always seem to think it is fun to try to climb on top of the steer – but be careful – they are hot sitting in the sun all day.

Right down Chisholm Trail is the famous round rock and the creek crossing the plaques make reference to.  You can also see wagon ruts in the limestone in the creek as well.

There is a parking lot, but hold on to little one’s hands while in the park.  It is right next to the very busy Chisholm Trail.  It’s a beautiful park to learn more about our great city.
