When kids play outside, they develop advanced motor skills. It also lowers body mass and leads to better general health, including improved muscle strength, a boosted immune system, and an improved mood.
Although kids will enjoy the freedom to play and choose activities that interest them, the camp also provides a safe, comforting, and structured environment. Campers follow a schedule and routine, which provides a sense of security. This structure also teaches responsibility and self-control.
For some kids, overnight camps might be their first chance to sleep away from home, make decisions independently from their parents, and navigate a day filled with their own choices. It can be a good first step to establishing self-esteem, self-confidence, and independence.
