Connecting Round Rock: Moms Who Mean Business – Ramos
Connecting Round Rock explores what makes Round Rock great!
As we continue to connect with our community’s incredible people and organizations, we’re eager to learn more about what makes Round Rock such a vibrant place. That’s why we’re continuing our Connecting Round Rock series.
Each time, we’ll feature something or someone who contributes to making our community great—businesses, organizations, and people we think you would like to know!
Since we are in May, the Moms Who Mean Business series segment is a natural choice for this month. And what better way to celebrate mothers’ strength and resilience? Join us and be inspired by the stories of these driven women who build, lead, activate, and support Round Rock (and beyond)!
Meet Monica
Tell us about your family.
My family is my greatest adventure, and trust me, I’ve seen a lot in 13 years as a nurse. My husband is my rock and biggest cheerleader, even when I’m juggling patients, clients, and our business. Our son is a soccer-loving math whiz who could probably calculate your caffeine intake while scoring a goal. Our daughter is a fearless firecracker. She doesn’t just break glass ceilings, she kicks them in with sparkles and sass. We’re also lucky to have a smart, compassionate stepdaughter who brings her own unique magic to our mix. And rounding out the crew is Sammy, our rescue dog, who thinks she runs the house, and honestly, she might. We’re a wild, loving, perfectly imperfect team, and they inspire me every day to dream big, laugh hard, and never stop moving forward.
What would be your ideal way to spend Mother’s Day?
Since I work full-time as a nurse and also run a business, this year my ideal Mother’s Day is all about slowing down and just soaking up quality time with my kids. No rushing, no schedules—just being present with the little humans who made me a mom. A cozy morning, some laughs, maybe a movie or a backyard game… and if I don’t have to cook, clean, or hear the word ‘Mom!’ yelled from the other room every five minutes? That’s basically a spa day in my book.
The Ramos Family
Tell us about your business.
The Point isn’t just a restaurant; it’s where good food meets great memories.
My business is The Point Restaurant and Bar, and it’s more than just a place to eat; it’s a whole vibe. We opened in February 2024 with a vision to create a welcoming space where cultures, flavors, and people come together. Our menu is a global mash-up, think bold, comforting, and fried just right. We’re kid-friendly because good food should be for everyone, big and small.
You’ll find live music and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights and a stunning patio overlooking Brushy Creek, perfect for relaxing or turning up the energy. We also have a private event room ready for anything from corporate mixers to weddings to birthday celebrations.

What’s your favorite part about your business?
Honestly, it’s the energy of it all. From the moment the doors open to when the music starts, it’s like the place comes alive. My favorite part is seeing people come together, whether it’s families enjoying a meal, couples dancing, or friends celebrating. There’s something magical about watching different cultures, personalities, and experiences blend over great food and music. And of course, I love that we can provide a space where every event, big or small, feels like a personal celebration. It’s a daily reminder that we’re not just serving food; we’re creating moments that people will remember.
What is one challenge with your business?
One of the biggest challenges we face is that many people don’t know The Point exists yet. We’re a hidden gem ready to be discovered. We offer something different: great food that’s not only diverse but also delicious.
We’re not just a restaurant; we’re an all-in-one experience with live music, dancing, a stunning patio, and a beautiful event room. So, the challenge has been making sure people know we’re here, ready to serve up something unique and be the place where they want to celebrate, unwind, and eat amazing food.
How does your business give back to the community?
At The Point, giving back to the community isn’t just a side mission—it’s part of our purpose. We proudly host local bazaars where small businesses can showcase their products, connect with new customers, and build visibility. Supporting other entrepreneurs is a big deal to us because we know how hard that journey can be. We also source from local vendors whenever we can, host events, and partner with organizations to host their events.
Whether it’s a fundraiser or providing a space for community connection, we’re always open to new ways to serve. If there’s an opportunity to help, we want to be a part of it because The Point isn’t just in the community; we’re for the community.
How can Round Rock (and the surrounding areas) support your business?
The best way to support The Point is simple: come experience it for yourself!
Bring your family for dinner, join us for a night of dancing, or plan your next event with us. Please share with your friends, tag us on social media, and help spread the word that there’s a local gem right here in your backyard. We’ve created a space that celebrates culture, flavor, and connection, and we’d love nothing more than to be your new go-to spot. Whether you’re coming in for the food, the music, or the good vibes, we’re ready to welcome you like family.
