New Children’s Attraction Added to Typhoon Texas Austin Water Park
We were super excited to see that a big children’s waterscape is being added to the new Typhoon Texas Austin in Pflugerville. Formally known as Hawaiian Falls, we often felt it lacked play areas for smaller children, so we were thrilled to hear this news.
As of last week, Typhoon Texas Austin has completed the installation of its new, four-story Gully Washer children’s attraction, a major step in the transformation of the waterpark located at 18500 North SH 130 Service Road SB in Pflugerville.
Set to open Saturday, May 27, Typhoon Texas is a private business that has invested millions to transform the venue into a Texas-themed waterpark for families.
“We are so excited for families to come experience Typhoon Texas,” said Typhoon Texas Austin General Manager Ty Weitzel. “The younger kids will absolutely love the Gully Washer—it dumps and sprays water every five minutes, and it has so many nozzles and toys for kids to play with for hours. Families and friends are going to have Texas-sized fun at our waterpark this summer!”
The Gully Washer is designed for children ages 3 to 10 and features an 800-gallon water bucket, more than 100 spray areas, eight platforms, seven slides, elevated walkways and rope bridges. A new splash pad for younger children ages 2 to 4 was also added.
Grand opening festivities for Typhoon Texas Austin begin Friday, May 26 with a Sneak Peek exclusively for season pass holders. The waterpark opens to the public Saturday, May 27. The park will have live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Typhoon Texas Austin will be open daily 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. with extended hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Season pass holders always get into the park 30 minutes early. The park will also offer extended hours for special theme nights and group gatherings for schools, churches and company outings.
