Texas Baptist Children’s Home Celebrates 75th Anniversary

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS – On Thursday, September 4, Texas Baptist Children’s Home (TBCH) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating its 75th anniversary. Joined by staff, board members, and the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, TBCH marked the milestone with a formal rededication in the chapel.

Board President Judy McLeod led attendees in a responsive dedication reading. Debbie Rippstein, TBCH president, and Todd Roberson, Children at Heart Ministries president, offered remarks reflecting on the history and impact of the Home. Rippstein also recognized Louis Henna, Jr., along with Ruthie and Bob Herber, descendants of founders Louis and Billie Sue Henna, thanking them for their family’s legacy of generosity that made the ministry possible.

“Today is more than a celebration – it’s a testimony,” Rippstein said. “For 75 years, Texas Baptist Children’s Home has been a place where hope has found a home, where healing has taken root, and where real, steady, God-given love has changed lives.”

The ribbon cutting and rededication took place one day before the 75th anniversary of TBCH’s original dedication in 1950. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to join in a commemorative photo on the chapel steps.
