The annual sale of Christmas stars to benefit STARRY programs that combat child abuse starts on Friday, November 18, 2016 at local Wag-A-Bag Convenience Stores and continues through December 4, 2016.Customers will be able to buy a red star for $1, green star for $5, or a yellow star for $10. Each star will be displayed in the Wag-A-Bag store with the purchaser’s name on it. All proceeds help fight child abuse and neglect in the community.
Now in its twelfth year, the program of spring and fall star sales at Wag-A-Bag raised more than $200,000 to help fight child abuse and neglect. All 18 Wag-A-Bag stores in the greater Austin area participate in the sale. A similar program is held in the spring in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month. “Children have been so blessed by our partnership with Wag-A-Bag and its customers,” said STARRY Executive Director Richard Singleton. “Because they give back to our communities, STARRY is able to make a difference in preventing child abuse and neglect.”
