Special Events at the Round Rock Public Library This Week

Kick off fall homeschool library days on September 16, 2019 by bringing your favorite art piece(s) to show off at our homeschool art exposition!   Show your painting, sculpture, culinary dish, dance performance or any piece of art you’d like to share. All ages are welcome to participate.

Elementary students are welcome to join us at the Round Rock Public Library‘s Rockin’ Kids Club art week on Monday, September 16, 2019.  Local musician Mo Pair will entertain us with his Mr. Mo Children’s’ Program. Mo maintains a swift pace, covering folk songs, children’s’ songs,… and a little rock-n-roll that caters to kids. Mo explores educational tidbits that only folk songs can provide, and promises to leave kids singing a quirky and fun rock-n-roll number, from the Beatles era!

The Round Rock Public Library will host a Tech Toy Petting Zoo on Thursday, September 19, 2019 for kids ages 8-12. Experiment with technology at this come-and-go event designed for young engineers. Program a Dash & Dot robot and a Sphero SPRK+ robot.  Learn to code with Ozobots and LEGO Robotics.  Customize a Cubelet robot, or explore electronics with Little Bits and/or Squishy Circuits.

Family Night Out at Flix Brewhouse: E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

Family Night Out kicks off this September at Flix with “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” on Monday, September 16, 2019 featuring a free basket of popcorn with admission! *ALL AGES WELCOME

Round Rock Parks and Rec Family Campout

The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department presents the Family Campout on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 through Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 at Old Settlers Park. Come spend the night in Old Settlers Park!  You’ll pop your tent around the Lakeview Pavilion, eat dinner, have fun, play games, sit around the campfire eating s’mores, watch a movie in the park and then off to sleep under the stars. Wake up with the sunrise and enjoy breakfast, and then check out the National Hunting and Fishing Day activities. Registration is required.

Sam Bass Community Theatre presents Everybody Loves Opal from September 20 – October 13, 2019.

Taptoberfest at The Brass Tap

Dust off your lederhosen, work up an appetite and bring your beer tasting A game, it’s Taptober Fest 2019 at The Brass Tap on September 21, 2019. Allow the wafting smell of freshly tapped Oktoberfest brews and the hum of live traditional Polka music lead you to our front doors. Come for the beer and stay for the German fare. We’ll have music, munchies, and Marzens galore!

Special Events at the Round Rock Public Library This Week

The Round Rock Public Library is hosting a new series designed to help teens develop life skills and knowledge to survive adulthood. For our September 3rd program there will be a College Admissions seminar presented by College Counselor, Liz Pack with Collegewise Austin.

Would you like to establish your presence on the Web? Then this class is for you. Join the Round Rock Public Library for Web Site Development, a free class for adults, Saturday, Sept. 7th to learn how to share your expertise with the world using WordPress or Weebly.com via hands-on instruction. Your Web page can be published by the end of the session!

Poets (ages 16 to adult) can share their work at our family-friendly poetry event Poetry in Motion on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 at the Round Rock Public Library. Come prepared to read or just to listen to some of our local talent. Hosted by Nadine Flowers and E.B. Staples.

Join the Round Rock Public Library for Time Management for Kids on Sunday, Sept. 8th. Lisa Feng, Alpha Education Partner, will teach you how to establish good time management skills with your children, which will help them prioritize tasks, plan ahead and set aside the time necessary to complete school assignments, and maximize their interests and potential. This workshop is appropriate for parents of school-aged children (ages 5 to 18).

Brushy Creek Bat Fest and 5K & 10K 

Brushy Creek MUD is hosting Bat Fest 2019 and the Bat Fest 5K & 10K on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Brushy Creek Community Center . This is a free event. Please bring a canned food item to donate to Round Rock Serving Center. Free Activities and Bat Education including live music, ACC Riverbat Mascot, Austin Bat Refuge, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Bounce House, Train Rides, Dizzy Bat Race, and Face Painting.
