Round Rock ISD Announce Spring Break Closures
The Round Rock Independent School District announced on Friday, March 13 at 5:30 PM that all Spring Break activities will be CANCELLED beginning Sunday, March 15.
They went on to announce that they would not be communicating possible closures of the school district PAST Spring Break until THURSDAY, MARCH 19.
From their email:
The health and wellbeing of our community, students and staff is our top priority and we are committed to keeping you informed of our actions to protect against the risk of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on our campuses and in our community.
Throughout Spring Break, we will be working with our public health agencies regarding decisions on school closures and other responses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will inform our community by Thursday, March 19, if the return date for students or staff is later than March 23.
Beginning Sunday, March 15, we are canceling all activities, events, and rentals of school facilities from outside organizations throughout the week of Spring Break. This includes, but is not limited to, practices and rehearsals for UIL activities, all special events, gatherings, performances and presentations, and meetings. The UIL is also suspending all UIL sanctioned contests effective March 16 through at least March 29.
Staff and students should not visit district facilities during the week of March 16-22 as maintenance staff will be conducting cleaning and disinfecting, including fogging all facilities and buses with hospital-grade disinfectant.
Round Rock ISD administration will update parents as needed during Spring Break through email, text and phone call. Please visit our Coronavirus webpage with current information about Round Rock ISD’s response and plans related to COVID-19. We will also provide information on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
