KXAN hosting “Save Our Students” Forum at Stony Point High School | August 26, 2019

As part of the KXAN “Save Our Students” project, KXAN News will be hosting  “A Conversation To Save Our Students: Solutions for Wellness & Safety” forum on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019 at Stony Point High School from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Stony Point High School is located at 1801 Tiger Trail, Round Rock, TX 78664.

The forum will be moderated by journalists from KXAN News and feature a panel of local mental health experts. The event is open to the public and will be live streamed on KXAN’s social media channels. Segments of the forum will be recorded for use on future newscasts and on the KXAN website.

The KXAN” Save Our Students” project aims to remove the conversation barriers around mental health. Mental health is one of those topics that is so broad and so complicated that many parents don’t know where to start when talking to kids. Mental health issues are frequently perceived as a weakness when, in reality, owning them and treating them shows great strength. It’s time to change the conversation.

KXAN’s “Save Our Students” project has been supported by the Solutions Journalism Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rigorous and compelling reporting about responses to social problems.
