Describe your mission and work focused on local learners.
HopeAustin endeavors to provide opportunity through food security by ensuring Central Texas students are well nourished, allowing them to reap the benefits of the quality education they receive. When students are food secure, they can achieve the best learning outcomes. We provide Nutritional support through our 8 district programs, meeting students where they are on the journey. We offer weekend support as well as during the week programs both during the school year and through the summer. At HopeAustin, embracing the concept of well-nourished students brings shelf-stable, fresh food, and healthy food to the table.
HopeAustin is Excited to Share that we are now also doing business as HopeRoundRock in the Round Rock Community/City. In the Round Rock District Alone, we serve over 3,100 students per week in 52 of the District’s Campuses. We are proud to serve in the Round Rock Community.
What is your favorite part about the work your organization does?
Working with our local community placing food directly into the hands of students who rely upon us each week.
What is one challenge your organization faces?
Our biggest challenge for HopeAustin DBA HopeRoundRock is the awareness/impact we make in the Round Rock Community.
How does your organization prepare to kick off the school year?
HopeAustin is participating in several Back To School Events with local school districts and working with our educators to determine the beginning needs on all campuses. We are also working with local businesses and individuals, creating Back To School notes with uplifting messages for the new school year. Our goal is 3,000 cards for our student meal kits.
How can Round Rock (and the surrounding areas) support your organization?
Bringing Awareness to our endeavor is a great start!! It takes our community to help us feed the over 5,000 students per week we currently support. We are looking for volunteers and donors to help us always say yes to A Student In Need. We just started our First-Ever Adopt A Campus Campaign, and we welcome interested individuals/businesses.
