Hike for Hunger with RRPD and US Army | November 13, 2021
The Round Rock Police Department will once again team up with the U.S. Army to sponsor the 2021 Hike for Hunger Food Drive benefiting the Round Rock Area Serving Center at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 13. Participants will walk 2 miles from the U.S. Army Round Rock Recruiting Center to the Round Rock Area Serving Center carrying rucksacks filled with food. The public is encouraged to join the hike alongside the men and women of the Police Department and U.S. Army.
The Round Rock Serving Center serves low-income people and families in crisis situations through a food distribution program. Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected during a Fill the Cop Car event on Saturday, Oct. 30 at HEB grocery stores throughout the City.
The 2020 Hike For Hunger food drive raised 8,000 pounds of food and $4,800 in cash and gift cards.
