Express Yourself Visual Art Competition

The Round Rock Express is looking for Central Texas residents to express themselves… through art. The Express, in conjunction with the Round Rock Art Council, benefiting the Round Rock Foundation for the Arts, announced Friday morning a new community art initiative “Express Yourself.” The contest is aimed to recognize and encourage artistic talent within the Central Texas community. Using the theme of America’s pastime, participants will submit original artwork that shows their individual creativity.

Open to all ages, the visual arts contest will allow winners to see their artwork on display at the Intel Club at Dell Diamond for the 2016 season. Selected pieces will be on sale to the general public with sales benefiting the Round Rock Foundation of the Arts. The contest is broken down in to six age divisions: Primary (preschool – 2nd grade), Intermediate (grades 3-5), Middle School (grades 6-8), High School (grades 9-12), Special Artist (all ages), and Adult Artist (18 and older). One winner will be selected from each age division and announced March 26th.

Submissions will be accepted online only beginning January 4th until March 1st. Artists should fill out the online form and submit a picture of the artwork. No physical artwork is to be dropped off at Dell Diamond unless the artist is contacted directly by the Express. Artists contacted by the Round Rock Express will be asked to drop off their submissions at Dell Diamond on March 11th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Gallery opening and artist reception will be on March 26th during Fan Fest. All participants will receive two (2) general admission tickets to a 2016 Express game. Each age division winner will receive a four (4)-pack of tickets and Intel Club passes.
