Heroes Against Hunger Holiday Extravaganza 2025
On Friday, November 7th, the most wonderful time of the year kicks off in Round Rock with the first big holiday event of the season!
The Heroes Against Hunger Holiday Extravaganza will take over Centennial Plaza from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Local nonprofit Backpack Friends hosts this annual event, transforming the Plaza into a winter wonderland. The event includes holiday shopping, food trucks, kids’ activities, face painting, balloon art, live music, and so much more! Pictures with Santa and a unique holiday picture INSIDE a giant snow globe add to the fun.

Backpack Friends’ mission is to wipe out weekend hunger in local communities.
Did you know 1 out of every 4 kids in Texas doesn’t have regular access to food when away from their school campus? However, Backpack Friends (501c3) is changing that. In 2014, we began feeding 12 schools at a local elementary campus, and today, we have provided more than 150,000 weekend meal kits/snack packs to students across central Texas. That’s more than 850,000 pounds of nutritious, shelf-stable, kid-friendly, brand-name foods. Backpack Friends currently supports 4800 students each month and expects to double our impact within the next year.
