Round Rock Writer’s Group – March 7, 2015
The Round Rock Public Library presents the Round Rock Writers Group:
Are you a writer in the Round Rock area (or would you like to be one)? Come work with other authors at the Round Rock Writer’s Group, Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Round Rock Public Library. The goal of the group will be to publish an annual themed anthology along with expanding your personal writing skills.
The topic for the first meeting is “Using a Pen Name: Is it right for you? How to choose one.”
The Round Rock Writer’s Group meets three times a month:
First meeting—We will announce a monthly writing prompt, designed to focus on a specific aspect of writing such as characterization, setting, etc. Additionally, a topic will be discussed relevant to careers in writing (such as pen names, protecting your identity online (for bloggers), self-publishing, etc.).
Second meeting—This will not be a formal session but rather a working session. All are encouraged to bring a laptop or notebook and just write together.
Third meeting—This is the critique session. Members will be expected to have submitted their work online (directions will be provided) and all submissions need to be read ahead of time for efficient critiques.
