RRHS Dragon Band Grand National Championships Send-off Performance | November 9, 2015
The Round Rock community, fans of marching band, supporters of the Dragon Band and all of Dragon Nation are invited to watch The Round Rock Dragon Band perform for the last time, in Texas, their 2015 marching show “This is My Letter to the World.” The performance is Monday November 9th, starting at 7:00pm at Dragon Stadium on the Round Rock High School campus.
Two days later, The Dragon Band will depart for the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they will perform their competition marching show inspired by the ballet of Martha Graham and music of Aaron Copland.
The Dragon Band most recently represented Round Rock in the 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade, appearing on national television in their signature dragon uniforms, adorned with a yellow rose of Texas. The band’s 2013 BOA Grand National Championship performance earned 4th place out of 93 competing marching bands from across the United States as well as an award for outstanding music, and the invitation to the Tournament of Roses Parade. The band anxiously awaits another opportunity to proudly represent Round Rock, and all of Texas at this year’s National Championships.
Monday’s Community Send-Off Performance starts at 7:00 pm and is free to everyone. It is recommended to arrive by 6:45 pm to ensure a good seat.
