Free LEGO Fun Day with Learning Fun 101

March 14 @ 10:00 am12:00 pm and 1:00 – 3:00 pm

Attention LEGO fans! The Round Rock Public Library and Learning Fun 101 are hosting a special free spring break LEGO event at the library.  Join us Monday, March 14, 2016 from 10 am – noon and 1 pm – 3 pm. Children & parents are encouraged to come for a fun filled day of LEGO building and discovery!

LEGO Fun event’s include some of the following activities:

  • Dive into a swimming pool full of LEGO pieces for “Free Building”. It’s like a treasure hunt and that one special LEGO piece is your treasure. Build anything & everything – just for fun!
  • Create a unique spin art using our LEGO NXT spin art machine.
  • Play a fun LEGO game.
  • Test drive a LEGO car on our ramp.
  • Meet Baymax from the movie Big Hero Six!

Evening Storytime – Pajama-friendly storytime for ages 3 and up

March 14 @ 6:30 pm7:00 pm in Room A.

Guests to this pajama-friendly reading activity will enjoy a fun combination of books, fingerplays, songs, and a short film or app for preschool children ages 3 to 6.

Our regular Preschool Storytime schedule is:

  • Mondays, 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.
  • Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Pre-registration is not required unless you are bringing a group of six or more children.

Family Movie: Goosebumps (PG)

Bilingual Signing Storytime

Explore American Sign Language, for ages 1-6

Round Rock Public Library presents American Sign Language Bilingual Storytime at 10:30 a.m. in Room B. This program is a partnership with The Signing Connection, and is best enjoyed by children ages 1 – 6, along with their caregivers.

No preregistration is required unless you plan to bring six or more children.

Teen Book Club: every day

The Round Rock Public Library Teen Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Teen Room.  Join us on Tuesday, March 15 to discuss every day by David Levithan. While book club selections are chosen specifically for teens ages 12-18, parents may still wish to review the content for appropriateness for his/her child/teen.

Babytime – Books, songs, and fun for babies 12 – 18 months old

The Round Rock Public Library presents Babytime, a storytime program for babies and their caregivers that encourages language development and learning. Explore a different theme each week through stories, songs, and finger plays. After the brief story session, babies and their caregivers will have social time with toys, bubbles, and even parachute play.

Please bring your baby to the developmentally appropriate group. Use these ages as guidelines:

  • Ages 0 – 12 months, Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.
  • Ages 12 – 18 months, Wednesdays or Fridays at 9:30 a.m.

 Toddlertime – Stories and play for ages 18 months – 3 years

The Round Rock Public Library presents Toddlertime, a reading activity for children ages 18 months – 3 years, along with their caregivers. This interactive program supports pre-reading skills to build a strong foundation for learning–and the joys of learning–among pre-readers.

Our regular Toddlertime schedule is:

  • Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. in Room A
  • Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. in Room B
  • Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. in Room B
  • Fridays, 10:30 a.m. in Room A

You do not need to pre-register to attend Toddlertime unless you are bringing six or more children.

Bit, Bytes, and Bots: Robotics Workshop

Bits Bytes & Bots

Tweens and Teens are welcome to join us at Round Rock Public Library on ThursdayMarch 17 (RRISD Spring Break). Participants will build STEM skills and explore the world of robotics! Spaces are limited in this hands-on program, so online preregistration is required. Online preregistration begins Wednsday, February 17 at 9 am.

There will be two sessions. Please register for one age-appropriate session below:

Session 1 will be from 2:30 – 3:30 pm – ages 8-12
Session 2 will be from 4 – 5 pm – ages 12-17

Round Rock Area Pokemon Club

Drop-in play for Pokemon enthusiasts

Pokemon players, make new friends and share your love of Pokemon Saturday mornings at the Round Rock Public Library. The Round Rock Area Pokemon Club welcomes kids to drop by for free, casual play in the Library’s Meeting Room A, 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Fans can play, trade, battle on their Nintento DS devices, or just talk Pokemon. Parents are welcome to relax and chat while their kids are engaged.


Bow Wow – Read to a therapy dog

Bow WowThe Round Rock Public Library presents Bow Wow, a program that allows new readers to practice their skills with a therapy dog and its trainer. Through our partnership with the Austin Dog Alliance, we offer Bow Wow on the first and third Saturdays of most months.

Family Storytime – Stories, rhymes, and fun for families

March 19 @ 11:00 am11:30 am

The Round Rock Public Library presents Family Storytime. This weekly, interactive program includes a variety of activities such as books, fingerplays, music, movies, and puppets. Families with children of all ages are welcome, but children ages 3 – 8 will enjoy it best. This is a food-free event for our families living with food allergies. Please do not bring snacks. Join us  at 11 a.m. on Saturdays in Room A.
