Worth the Drive: Things to Do Over Holiday Break
Here are a few fun things to do around Central Texas that we feel are worth the drive.
Hike to the top of Enchanted Rock
One of our favorite things to do on a wintry sunny day is to get outdoors and hike. And the hike we all enjoy the most as a family is to the top of Enchanted Rock. It may require a bit of planning (make sure you get there early to get in the park) and it will make you out of breath, but the view & the sense of accomplishment is spectacular. More details here.
Mural Hunt in Austin
We love to find murals in Austin. We used to have a link dedicated to murals, but they move and change so much, that it was hard to keep up. Our suggestion is to google murals in Austin and go exploring! Enjoy breakfast at Snooze Eatery before you go or Home Slice Pizza for lunch.
Dart Em Up
Kids love to battle it our in a nerf gun war and parents love that they don’t have to clean up the mess! Check out this indoor battle ground. More details here.
Hill Country Science Mill
One of our families’ favorite hands-on museums is out in Johnson City. The Hill Country Science Mill has many great exhibits that will take hours to full see. While in Johnson City, you can check out the Lyndon B. Johnson Boyhood home, which is right next door. More details here.
