Ways to Honor Your Graduating Senior in Round Rock

We have several disappointed High School Seniors this year – what with their last year of high school ending so abruptly, with no traditional graduation ceremony.

Several Round Rock businesses and organizations are finding creative ways to honor our Round Rock graduates from all seven Round Rock ISD high schools.

Neighborhoods are really stepping it up, decorating with banners and signs. And some are hosting car parades, organized by elementary school, to help honor the graduates.

We were also excited to see these fun ways to honor your graduating senior:

Round Rock Water Tower Lights for High School Seniors

The city of Round Rock will light the historic water tower in honor of Round Rock Independent School District high school graduating classes of 2020 from May 18-23, 2020.

Each night will be dedicated to a different high school, with tower lights rotating to a show displaying the individual school’s colors every 30 minutes. A congratulations banner will also be placed downtown in recognition of the graduates.

The lighting schedule is as follows:

  • May 18: Red lights in honor of Success High School, Early College High School
  • May 19: Yellow lights in honor of Stony Point High School
  • May 20: Blue lights in honor of McNeil High School
  • May 21: Purple lights in honor of Cedar Ridge High School
  • May 22: Orange lights in honor of Westwood High School
  • May 23: Maroon lights in honor of Round Rock High School

Round Rock Express Honors Graduates on Marquee Sign

The Round Rock Express would like to celebrate our local high school 2020 graduates by putting your photo, name and high school on the marquee outside Dell Diamond. Their in-house team will create a personalized graphic with your submitted information.

You can pick the date, and starting at 9 a.m. on that day, they will scroll though all submitted graduates in alphabetical order by last name. Each graduate’s personalized graphic will be on the marquee for a minimum of 10 seconds before moving on to the next graphic. The scrolling of graduates will continue until 9 a.m. the following day.
