Special Events at the Round Rock Public Library This Week

Join Texas Master Gardeners for Bulbs and their Relatives on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. The Texas Master Gardener Association, a volunteer organization of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is presenting a free monthly gardening program, Green Thumbs Up, at the Round Rock Public Library this fall.

The Round Rock Public Library and Fun 2 Learn Code will host an Scratch computer programming class for tweens (age 8-12) on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. *Advance registration is required.

The Alzheimer’s Association presents Living with Younger-Onset Alzheimer’s on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at the Round Rock Public Library. Join this free program to get answers to the questions that arise for people concerned about Younger-Onset Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Hear from those directly affected and learn what you need to know, what you need to plan, and what you can do to ease the impact throughout the course of the disease.

Join the Round Rock Public Library for You Are a Poet, a free workshop for adults (ages 18+) on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019. In this safe-space class, learn simple strategies and techniques to harness your creativity into poems on the page. Achievable exercises, writing time, and structured and positive sharing. See yourself as the poet you are. Beginners and all levels are welcome.

Round Rock ISD Personal Financial Literacy Seminar

Round Rock ISD is hosting a seminar entitled Personal Financial Literacy on Monday, September 9, 2019. The seminar is an interactive presentation that shows high school students how to succeed financially, keep them from living paycheck to paycheck, and be able to comfortably retire someday. It will include the advantages of starting to save early in life, living below your means, saving for retirement, and investing in the stock market.

Free Ranger Outdoor Recreation Education Workshop

The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department is presenting a Free Ranger Workshop – Snakes & Spiders on September 14, 2019. Want to learn more about how totally cool they are!? Ranger David will have some to see and learn about at this FREE educational presentation! Snakes & Spiders in Round Rock!

Granny Basketball Charity Game vs. Round Rock PD and Round Rock FD

Come out and support the Allen R. Baca Center’s Round Rock Rockettes at their inaugural Granny Basketball Charity Game on Saturday, September 14, 2019. The Rockettes will battle it out with our local Round Rock Police and Fire Departments, all while raising money for Meals on Wheels program at the Baca Center. All the Granny Basketball rules will apply with additional handicaps for the Fire and Police. This is going to be a truly FUN event and is open to anyone that would like to support this great team.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s
