Fossil Fest | November 2-3, 2019

The Paleontological Society of Austin is hosting the 29th Annual Fossil Fest on November 2 and 3, 2019 from 9:00 am – 5:00 at the Old Settler’s Heritage Association  across from the Dell Diamond . The theme is “What’s in your Backyard? Dinosaurs!” seeks to explore and answer that question by focusing on the geologic history of Texas as told by the rock layers beneath our feet and the fossils they contain.

  • Guest Speaker: “Fossils Talk – Hear their Stories”
  • BYOF: Bring Your Own Fossil for Fossil Identification
  • Meet a Scientist: Q&A, hands-on demo
  • “Paleo Passport” educational quest for students
  • Hands-on Fossil Touch Table and Microscope
  • Exhibits: See what amateur fossil collectors find in Texas
  • Fossil collections: Start yours at the Wheel of Fossils & Dig Pit
  • Fossils / Minerals / Books / Gifts / Jewelry / Toys / more
  • Hourly and Grand Door Prizes

Schedule:

  • Saturday , November 2, 2019 from 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Sunday, November 2, 2019 from 9:00am to 5:00pm

Admission:

  • $3/adult, $2/child (6-12), children under 6 free.
  • Special rates may apply for school, scout and youth groups

  • Next to the Dell Diamond on US Highway 79, Round Rock, TX 3 miles east of IH-35.
