Pi Day Math Fun – March 14, 2015
The Round Rock Public Library & Mathnasium Of Round Rock bring you Pi Day fun & games on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
It’s Pi Day! And it’s a doozy–a Super Pi Day, if you will! Today’s date, 3/14/15, represents the first five of pi’s inifinite number of digits.
Our friends at Mathnasium like to say their love for math is like pi – irrational, constant, and infinite in scope. They are partnering with the Library with Pi Day contests and events highlighting math, circles, patterns, constants, and, of course, puns. There will also be games to promote fun exploration, logical thinking, and math mastery for students in grades K-12.
Come play!
Celebrate Pi and learn more about everyone’s favorite mathematical constant in the process. Here’s how:
Drop by the Library’s Gallery for games and Pi challenges. It’s come-and-go fun, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 14.
Win prizes!
Eight Mathnasium Pi Day prize packs are up for grabs, so put your thinking caps on! Winners will be selected by RRPL staff in the following categories.
Grade K-1 : Creative contest & Number Sense challenge
Grades 2-5 : Pi Creative contest & Number Sense challenge
Grades 6-8 : Pi Creative contest & Number Sense challenge
Grades 9-12 : Pi Creative contest & Number Sense challenge
