When kids play outside, it helps them gain advanced motor skills. It also lowers body mass and leads to better general health, including improved muscle strength, boosted immune system, and an improved mood.
Although kids will enjoy the freedom to play and choose activities that interest them, camp also provides a safe, comforting and structured environment. Campers follow a schedule and routine, which provides a sense of security. This structure also teaches responsibility and self-control.
For some kids, overnight camps might be their first chance to sleep away from home, make decisions independently from their parents, and navigate a day filled with their own choices. It can be a good first step to establishing self-esteem, self-confidence, and independence.

| Description | Camp Doublecreek began in 1971 and is a traditional summer day camp for campers ages 4-14. Kids will be engaged all day with tons of outdoor camp games, arts & crafts, archery, water activities, and sports and much more. They will be challenged to learn new skills and have a blast making lots of lifelong friends. Transportation is offered for campers with different pickup point locations all throughout the Austin area, Georgetown, Round Rock, and Pflugerville. Summer camp will be held at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown this summer beginning on May 28th and running through August 2nd. Registration is done on a weekly basis. Camp Doublecreek also offers horseback riding at the Pflugerville location with a half day summer camp program, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on certain weeks of the summer. |
