Round Rock Premium Outlet Mall ~ Round Rock, TX

I saw a news program the other day that stated that the mall was dying.  The popularity of a big inside mall has gone away due to many factors, online shopping, specialty stores, and outlet malls.  Yes, I can see that, especially here in Round Rock, where we have the Round Rock Premium Outlet Mall right up I-35.  I don’t know about you, but I haven’t stepped foot in a mall in over 6 months.  All the shopping I need from a mall (and more) is right here in Round Rock.

I love the convenience of having the Outlets so close.  When I need dress pants for my son, I go to the Outlets.  When I need a new pair of soccer cleats, I go to the Outlets.  When I need workout clothes, I go to the Outlets. When I want a new purse, I go to the Outlets.  When I need a new pair of tennis shoes for my son (he goes through MANY), I go to the Outlets.  Get my point?

The Outlet Mall has such a great variety of clothing and shoe stores that I really don’t need to leave town or shop online to get the best price.  And I’m going to tell you a little secret to get an even better price–If you join the Premium Outlet Malls VIP Shopper program you have access to so many incredible coupons.

Many of y’all know by now that I am a big fan of shopping local.  Yes, these are national brands at the Outlet Mall and you wouldn’t quite think that shopping here is “shopping local”.  However, every purchase that is made in Round Rock that generates tax does in fact impact us.  These taxes help to pay for our Round Rock Police and Fire Department. They help build and fix roads.  They bring us the fun events that Parks & Rec puts oneach year – did you go to Frontier Days or Family Christmas Night?

Also, shopping at a store in Round Rock supports the employees that work at the stores – many of which live in Round Rock themselves.

I know it sounds basic and is something that you probably already know, but it is always a good reminder for me that buying a pair of shoes in Round Rock versus Austin or online, impacts me & my family.  Yes, one purchase is not making that big of a difference, but if you were to try to do all your shopping in Round Rock, it WILL.
