In addition to the Summer Reading Program, the Round Rock Public Library has a full lineup of free events happening all summer. The Round Rock Public Library hosts free summer events for all ages throughout June and July — no registration or library card required for most programs.

Round Rock Public Library Summer Children’s Events 2026

The library hosts free programs for kids, tweens, teens, and adults throughout June and July — performers, STEAM activities, book clubs, and special programs tied to the “Unearth a Story” summer reading theme.

All events are free and open to the public. No library card required to attend. The Summer Reading Challenge runs alongside all of this, June 1 – July 30, 2026.

Programs at the Library This Summer

For Children (Ages 0–12)

Storytime — Babytime, Toddlertime, Preschool Storytime, Bilingual Storytime, and Family Storytime run regularly. These lively 30-minute sessions mix books, movement, and songs. Check the calendar for summer dates and times.

School-Age Events — Special programs for kids ages 5–12, including STEAM activities, crafts, and performances, are held throughout the summer. Events are posted on the library calendar and on information boards inside the library.

Bow Wow Read to Dogs — Beginning readers can sign up for a 10-minute session reading aloud to a therapy dog. Registration required; see the online calendar for available dates. Contact the Children’s Desk at 512-218-7002 for more information.

Baby & Toddler Challenge — Grownups can log books read to babies and toddlers in ReadSquared, or pick up a paper Baby & Toddler Challenge Sheet at the library.

For Tweens & Teens (Ages 8–18)

Tween Book Club — Meets regularly for fans of middle-grade fiction and graphic novels. See the library calendar for summer dates.

Teen Programs — Teen-specific events and activities run throughout the summer. Check the library calendar for what’s coming up.

For All Ages

Special Performers & Events — The library brings in performers, authors, and presenters for all-ages programming throughout the summer. All events are free.

  • Friday–Saturday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Second and third floors close 15 minutes before closing time.
