RRISD Updates Mask and Visitor Policy
As COVID cases continue to fall in Williamson and Travis counties, Round Rock ISD will be modifying certain mitigation measures beginning Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. Starting Monday, masks will be strongly recommended for staff, students and visitors while indoors for those who are fully vaccinated, and strongly recommended at all times for those who are unvaccinated or immunocompromised. Also, visitors will once again be allowed on campus during school hours at the discretion of the school principal. As has always been the case, all visitors to Round Rock ISD campuses must present a valid ID which is scanned by a visitor management system to alert the campus to any possible matches in the sexual offender database.
To help sustain this trend of declining COVID cases, the majority of our COVID protocols remain in place, including notification of confirmed cases, daily COVID-19 dashboard updates, frequent handwashing, social distancing when possible, enhanced air filtration, and closing classes if there are a significant number of epi-linked COVID cases. Round Rock ISD recognizes that pandemic conditions can change rapidly. Therefore, we continue to use multiple indicators to determine our COVID protocols and practices, to ensure a healthy and safe environment for our students, staff, and community.
Frequent testing and vaccines, including boosters for those eligible, remain the most effective way to keep our campuses safe and students and staff healthy. To get your student vaccinated, please contact your child’s pediatrician or make an appointment with providers such as CVS Pharmacy, H-E-B, and Walgreens. Help in finding vaccine providers and scheduling doses is also available at Vaccines.gov.
Round Rock ISD continues to offer free COVID testing through a partnership with Curative and has opened a second testing site hosted by AtxLabCorps until March 11. COVID-19 testing is also available at local health centers, clinics, and select pharmacies, often at no cost. Please always call ahead to verify availability, check insurance coverage, or make an appointment as necessary.
