Super Bowl Party with a Purpose | February 5, 2017
Enjoy the big game and make a big difference. Be the change on February 5th by donating your time at the Sole Hope Event hosted and sponsored by Legacy Church.
What to Bring:
*Denim jeans – this is to make shoe uppers, so bring one pair per person; used jeans work perfectly fine.
*Cash or check – $10 per pair of shoes helps pay folks overseas to attach the uppers to a rubber sole.
*Game day snack – bring your favorite side to share; we’ll have sausage wraps and hot dogs for sale (at cost)
*If you can’t bring anything, no worries, just bring yourself.
About the Big Game: We will be broadcasting the football game on large projector screens for all to enjoy while they prepare the shoes
About Sole Hope: Sole Hope is a non-profit organization founded to provide closed-toed shoes to African children to help protect their feet from jiggers and their devastating impact on children. The organization also provides a way for African men and women to earn a living by teaching them a trade – how to make shoes.
Our Big Goal: Every day we hear about the injustices that go on in our world. Many people want to help, but may not be sure what to get involved in or how. We want to make it easy by focusing on a non-profit project that everyone and anyone in the community can truly rally around.
In August 2015, the Round Rock community gathered together to eat, listen to great music, but most importantly, to exceed their goal by making 212 pairs of shoes for children in dire need.
We are looking forward to bringing the community together again in February to focus on doing something positive to support our world. We’ll have an opportunity to meet new people and continue a culture of hope. We need your help to exceed our goal of 300 pairs of shoes. Join us and #BeTheChange.
