Thankful to Live in Round Rock ~ Day 1: Round Rock Parks & Rec Employees

We are so very blessed to live in such a great city – Round Rock is unique in that it’s big enough to have everything that we need, but still has that small town feel.  Many of you know, I started Round the Rock because I wanted everyone to know and take advantage of all the fun things there are to do here in the Rock.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought it would be fun to reflect on 30 things that make me Thankful to live in Round Rock.

30 Reasons why I’m Thankful to live in Round Rock
Day #1: Round Rock Parks & Recreation Employees

Yesterday, my 4 year old son and I ventured out to the Fall Fun Fest that the Round Rock Parks & Rec put on.  I had heard from several friends that said it was a lot of fun for the little ones.  I didn’t know what to expect (other than a big crowd) but we were ready to have fun!

We were completely blown away by how much effort was put into the Fest to make it amazing for our little ones!  We were greeted by these great Super Heroes, passing out goodie bags that had a book and snacks.

And we then spent a full hour taking our time playing all these fun carnival games – many of which were handmade to go along with the theme. I was impressed at all the creativity & hard work that had been put into designing the fun games.

Each one of the booths were manned by Round Rock Parks & Rec employees who were having a good time themselves! They laughed with the kids, helped them out with a few games, and made everyone feel very welcome.

I had no idea the Fall Fun Fest was put on by the actual Parks & Rec employees and was blown away that they would take the time to put on this FREE event for kids in our community.

As we rode away from the fest on our hay ride, I thought what an awesome city we live in that focuses on putting on quality events for our children.  Not only does the Round Rock Parks & Rec put on the Fall Fun Fest, they are responsible for the upcoming Christmas Family Night and Rockin’ Lights Holiday Lights Tour, Round Rock the Boat Regatta, Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt, and more.

I have never lived in a community that has done so many fun & free events for families. And for this, I am thankful for the Round Rock Parks & Recreation Employees!

Just a small disclosure here – I am not receiving any financial compensation to tell you what I am thankful for in Round Rock. I am simply telling you about places, objects, & opportunities that have blessed me & my family.
