Day #19: Sam Bass Shootout

We have all heard the story of Sam Bass and the shootout with him & his gang on the downtown streets of Round Rock.  It’s one of our most weel-known legends about our town.  But if you don’t, history is played out for us each July with the Sam Bass Shootout.

Each July, At Frontier Days, a group of stuntmen re-enact the famous scene, ensuring this story never dies.  It’s a fun show to watch, complete with dancing saloon girls, horses, and gunfire.  It’s a wonderful reminder of the rich history our town has.  And I love that we have a dedicated group that are passionate about putting it on for us each year.

Just a small disclosure here – I am not receiving any financial compensation to tell you what I am thankful for in Round Rock. I am simply telling you about places, objects, & opportunities that have blessed me & my family.
