Celebrate Women’s History Month with The Williamson Museum on the Chisholm Trail. Visit The Williamson Museum on the Chisholm Trail in Round Rock during the month of March to meet the amazing women who settled Williamson County. From Mary Anderson’s experiences during the Runaway Scrape to Hattie Cluck’s adventures on the trail, the stories will delight and entertain visitors of all ages. Hands on activities and crafts allow guests to be a part of life in the early days of Texas.
The month of events and activities includes:
March 3 – Meet Mary Anderson and grind corn and churn butter
March 10 – Meet Elizabeth Oatts and create treasures from Grandmother’s button box
March 17 – Meet Hattie Cluck and try your hand at calligraphy
March 24 – Meet Mary Ann Oatts Snyder and practice weaving
Visitors to the historic Owens House and the first post office in Round Rock take part in the daily life of Dr. Owens and his family along with Mr. Oatts each weekend as well.
Located at 8 Chisholm Trail in Round Rock, the museum is open Saturdays from 10 am – 3 pm. Admission is free and all visitors are welcome. Stop by and discover the stories of Williamson County.
