Today, Round Rock Independent School District announced that all RRISD Sports & Extracurricular Activities Canceled Until Sept 7. This comes the day after it was announced that RRISD classes will be virtual the first 3 weeks of school.

All Round Rock ISD summer extracurricular and campus activities have been canceled. The cancellations follow the order issued on July 14 by Travis County, which states all public and private schools in the county are to delay on-campus instruction until at least Sept. 7. The order includes that no extracurricular sports or activities are allowed until school systems reopen for on-campus instruction. Round Rock ISD’s boundaries cover parts of both Travis and Williamson counties, as well as the cities of Round Rock, Austin and Cedar Park.
Coaches and directors for athletics and fine arts are planning to reach out to students with virtual options soon. Round Rock ISD will continue to follow guidance from state and local health authorities, the Texas Education Agency and the University Interscholastic League (UIL).
At this time, Round Rock ISD is set to begin on-campus instruction on Sept. 10.
4 Virtual Town Halls
Round Rock ISD students and families will have the opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming school year during a series of Virtual Town Hall meetings in July.
Each meeting will focus on a specific area of interest, and during each Virtual Town Hall, District officials will share information related to the night’s specific topic and then take questions from attendees. Attendees will submit their questions using the Q&A feature on Zoom.
Community members interested in attending must register online prior to the event. Each Virtual Town Hall is limited to 500 registered attendees so admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
For those unable to attend the virtual event, recordings of the meetings will be available after on the District’s Facebook page, website and added to this page.
Virtual Town Hall Overviews- Public Health Guidelines Safety Measure
July 20, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Meeting focus: Safety and health measures that facilitate in-person instruction and day-to-day campus activity at schools and District facilities.
Virtual Learning/Support Services
July 22, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Meeting focus: Virtual learning delivery plan, including real-time (synchronous) instruction and asynchronous learning activities. The meeting will also address how students will receive support services such as counseling, and special education services in a virtual environment
Elementary: Overview
July 28, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Meeting focus: Operations and procedures for elementary campuses. Points of discussion will include attendance, calendar, curriculum and grading.
Middle and High School: Overview
July 30, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Meeting focus: Operations and procedures for middle and high schools. Points of discussion will include attendance, calendar, curriculum and grading.
