5 Questions with Paige’s Bakehouse, Paige Perry
In an effort to get to know more about the people who make Round Rock such a great place to live, I am resurrecting a series I did years ago called “5 Questions With….” As I did in the past, I will be asking a few questions of interesting people of Round Rock – people who work hard behind the scenes, people who strive to make our city great, people who make fun events & places possible in our city, and just cool folks you need to know.
But I wanted to take it a step further and reach out to as many businesses owners in Round Rock as I can. I want to catch up with them to learn how their business is doing under these conditions. And see if & how we can help keep them in businesses. I think you will be happy to hear some of the unique ways that businesses have adapted to the changes or are making plans to offer new products and services once they do open.
For years, the cake creations that came out of Paige’s Bakehouse took my breath away! I mean, they are true masterpieces (see photos below). And then I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of these cakes and she is just as sweet as her baked goods are (I know – bad pun).
As you can imagine, COVID-19 has impacted business for Paige Perry of Paige’s Bakehouse. But she has been very creative in her offerings – Holiday Cookies, Paint-at-Home Cookie Kits and more!
What is Paige’s Bakehouse?
Paige’s Bakehouse is a scratch, custom bakery and coffee shop.
What is the status of your business now?
We are most definitely open! We have adjusted hours during these uncertain times. M-F 8am-4pm, Sat 8am-2pm.
What do you miss most about your business or miss from the way things used to be?
We miss seeing everyone’s smiley faces, and the freedom for our customers to hang around the shop, play games, and just chat with us for a while.
What are the plans for the future for Paige’s Bakehouse?
We are still open for business as usual, using Uber Eats, Take Away/Carry Out, and Online and phone orders.
What has been a few of your favorite “at-home” activities during this time?
Baking of course!!!! We are offering Cookie decorating kits so you can have fun baking at home with the family!
Bonus – what’s the first thing you will do once the Stay-at-Home mandate is lifted?
We will gradually ease into business as normal, but I plan to have an awesome shin dig for our customers to thank them for their support during these trying times.
