5 Questions with Lifetime Vision Care’s Dr. Jennifer Khanh
In an effort to get to know more about the people who make Round Rock such a great place to live, I am resurrecting a series I did years ago called “5 Questions With….” As I did in the past, I will be asking a few questions of interesting people of Round Rock – people who work hard behind the scenes, people who strive to make our city great, people who make fun events & places possible in our city, and just cool folks you need to know.
But I wanted to take it a step further and reach out to as many businesses owners in Round Rock as I can. I want to catch up with them to learn how their business is doing under these conditions. And see if & how we can help keep them in businesses. I think you will be happy to hear some of the unique ways that businesses have adapted to the changes or are making plans to offer new products and services once they do open.
For the past 3 years, this pair of optometrists, and yes, they are husband and wife, have won the Best Optometrists in Round Rock award. Drs. Chris Eugenio and Jennifer Khan own Lifetime Vision Care in Downtown Round Rock and were crushed to have to close their doors during the pandemic. How have they been handling this time?
What is your business?
Lifetime Vision Care
What is the status of your business now?
We are working on limited schedule with reduced hours and staff. We are currently seeing urgent care by appointment only and available for glasses and contact lens ordering via curbside pickup.
What do you miss most about your business?
We miss hanging out with our staff and catching up with patients! Heck, we even miss our delivery guys… “hey Chris!”
What are the plans for the future for Lifetime Vision?
Besides cleaning like crazy?!? We are focusing more on staff development and training to come back stronger than ever.
We’re planning a “soft re-opening” on May 11th for routine and urgent care. We’ve developed new protocols following CDC and American Optometric Association guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient environment. Please bear with us as we transition to our “new normal”.
What has been a few of your favorite “at-home” activities during this time?
Dr E is building a treehouse for the kids… something hes been putting on the backburner while Dr K is getting to catch up on all her reading and baking nonstop with their lil girl! Dr. Nguyen has mastered her sushi skills!
Bonus – what’s the first thing you will do once the Stay-at-Home mandate is lifted?
Hug a patient! (If it’s okay with them!)
